Restorative Practices and Culture

  • Restorative practices are processes that proactively build healthy relationships and a sense of community. We build this culture through community circles; which are conducted daily.  These circles work on creating an environment where students feel valued and safe, develop mutual respect between teachers and students, as well as amongst students. between students and students.  In addition to community-building circles, circles can also be used for problem solving.
  • While the focus of our efforts are to proactively share expectations and teach appropriate behaviors, we recognize that students sometimes exhibit behaviors that are inappropriate.  In those cases we follow the HCPSS Student Code of Conduct.
