Note from Mrs. Stahler:

It has been a great week at Laurel Woods!  I want to take time to thank the students who took time to wish me a happy birthday this week.  It made my day.  I loved the wishes, the cards and the notes!  I am so thankful for the compassion and care the students show each other each day.

At the end of the week, we had a great Winter In-formance by our students.  We are so proud of our beginning band and strings students who performed last evening for a large audience of family and friends!  It was a packed house!  Way to go, LWES students!  A huge thank you to Mr. Whiddon for his leadership of our students, and his family for supporting and helping with the set up and clean up of the event.

We ended our week with a surprise visit by Chuck E. Cheese to kick off the PTO family night at Chuck E. Cheese  tonight.  The students were very surprised and excited.  It was a great way to end our day!

Winter seems to be back again and cold air is moving in once more.  Just want to remind everyone to make sure students wear layers and proper clothing each day so they are prepared to go outside for recess.  We want to get the students out for fresh air as often as possible.  Please help us by making sure your child has a hat, gloves and a warm coat each day.

Finally, we want to remind you to remember to use the car loop when picking up and dropping off students each day.  Our parking lot is not to be used as a car loop.  Cars will not be permitted to enter this area before arrival or dismissal each day.  Thank you for keeping our students safe each day and using the car loop that is next to the school.  Please remember that Howard Avenue and North Laurel Roads are not be used to drop off or pick up students, as well as Bridle Path Court.  These are neighborhood streets and are not intended for this use during arrival and dismissal.  Thank you for your help with this matter.

We hope that you enjoy the long weekend and we will see you on Tuesday!  Stay warm and safe!
